Catherine's Story

Maybe i should have learned to write better. I am not a good storyteller. i would like to think that my classmates would like me, i tell people now that i was really shy, they laugh at me. I am still somewhat reserved, i like to listen and watch. I am a tech i perform nerve conduction studies and EEGs. I had worked in springfield for many years, looking for a change took a job with a temporary/traveling agency. It was great but wished i had done it when i much younger, might have had more sense of adventure. I took a job in a small hospital, working with a one neurologist and of course i tell him i am the "best". I love my job, it is a challenge, i guess i am still young enough to require that challenge. :-) I always wanted to be in the medical field, if i had not been so "shy" i might have done more. My family used to think i would or could not be able to talk to patients, and bu boy were they wrong, sometimes i think my patients wish i would be quiet. Just joking, that is one of the things i enjoy about my job, that i can talk one on one with my patients and hopefully then i can perform the test that can help their physician figure out what is wrong with them or help them. I tease my patients telling them that i have the perfect job, i can take all my frustration out on them throughout the day and then go home stress free. Honestly that is not how it works, sometimes i feel i am so mentally exhausted when i get home, i just ...Expand for more
want to sit and relax, one way i like to relax is playing tetris on my cell phone or morjong on my computer. If i get started looking something up, i tend to get really involved with it, so maybe it is a good thing i am not seriously involved with anyone. I do miss my old job, I had worked in the clinic for 22 years, If the neurologist there had not given me the chance to learn and perform the testing i am not sure where i would be now. They took me under their wing, and i learned so much from them. They were so good to me. I always say i am a type A personality and have to have 20 things going on to be happy, when i had my sons and i was in college, working full time and studying for my EEG NCV exams i think i wished there were 40 hours in a day, honestly i cannot remember how i got things done, as my sons got older i learned that they were the most important things in my life, and i learned i had to "control" that need for stress, and i had to learn to relax so i could be there for them. When i think of highschool, i remember Mr Nichols first, i am not sure why, maybe because English was not one of my easiest subjects. Maybe i was in more deep doo doo in that class. :-) If you met me on the street, i have been told i tend to look stuck up, i dont mean to be. I think maybe that is still the shyness in me, i just do not tend to pay attention to everyone or everything going on around me. So if you do see me please say hello.
