Cathie's Story
Life
God has blessed me with a terrific family! Happily married for 38 years to Keith with 3 daughters, 3 son-in-laws, and 3 grandchildren. I'm the CEO of GraceWay Village in Fort Pierce, Florida, a wonderful nonprofit that helps our community in need so very much! I am so privileged to have this "retirement" job!
We love the outdoors, choosing mountains whenever we are able. (Maybe because we live close to the beach? ;o) Never thought this desert girl would almost take the beach for granted!. After hating Florida the first 5 years due to the humidity, it certainly has become home, living here for 38 years. But the humidity still makes me miss dry heat, the bugs are terrible (and the frogs), and the hurricanes...they keep us on our toes.
School
Anyone who knew me knew who was my biggest crush, along with many other girls. He was a good guy but a teen regardless and we all just fumbled around, thinking we had a handle on this thing called life. However, there is a country song that I just love which speaks the truth in regards to my life: "Thank God for Unanswered Prayers". I look back at the foolishness of those days and cringe at my total lack of ability to make wise decisions in any area of my life. There is no better match for me than my husband and best friend. Thankfully, my girls handled their teen years with far more grace and wisdom!
Story Ideas
What about me would surprise everyone at our high school reunion? My sarcasm is almost completely gone. Whew!
How do I hope old friends remember me? With grace, humor, and the knowledge that I am so very different...all in a very positive way!

ppy, I would be where, doing what, with whom? In the mountains with my family
Life doesn't always turn out the way I expect. What's my biggest surprise? That I live in Florida! I would never have imagined!
I get one do-over. What do I do differently? All of my high school years!
What's the weirdest job I ever had? Wall paper pasterer!
Where have I lived? Why did I move? Tucson, then Hampton, Virginia to be close to the man I loved, then Florida to be with the man I love, my husband.
I always wanted to be a mom when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a far stretch of an idea. As it turns out, they were wrong! ;o).
In a quiet spot reading, writing, or watching tv.
I would say my aunt is my hero. When I was lost as a teen, she took me in without knowing me well, loved me despite so many obvious flaws, stayed faithful throughout the years, always offering me encouragement and support. She was my healthy example of how to be a good wife and mother.
With honesty and humility, the good is remembered more often than the bad! Thank goodness! They truly offer unconditional love!
Casual!
I share my home with Keith, my husband, and Kaley, our last daughter, as well as one dog, which I find ideal!.
No trophies for them but quitting smoking 25 years ago certainly deserved one!
In 10 years, I hope to be an involved grandma, loving on her family. I'm going to get there by loving and enjoying my girls. (Footnote: I am blessed with exactly as I hoped in 2021...3 times over!)
My first job was at McDonalds, where I got paid minimum wage to cook fries. What I remember most about it is how immature I was.
