have forgotten to mention!
In the mid-70's I bred red and apricot toy poodles. I had several of them with my handler competing successfully in the show ring. Sadly, when facing a divorce, I had to find homes for all of my pets... a terrible heart-breaking time in my life.
I haven't been able to have a pet for a number of years now and I surely feel the loss of not having a companion pet.
Update May 2011: Due to my sister being with me as she is able to assist me with the daily care, I was able to pick up two "dumped" dogs running on my street. They are both absolute loves and by taking them into my home they have been saved from a sure-to-have-been death sentence had they been picked up and sent to the Devore facility.
When first brought into the home they were scared, stand-offish and shy, which would not have made them good adoptable pet-material in a "shelter" situation. They have turned into loving dogs, but any sudden sound, raised voice, a raised arm or reprimand sends them cowering, one even more so than the other. Based upon their behavior, I have mixed feelings on how they were treated by their original owners...
I'm not super hot or gorgeous...I don't have an amazing figure or a flat stomach...I'm far from being considered a model, but I'm ME...I eat food, love to wear my PJ's, and will go without make up...I'm random and crazy, kind hearted, and I don't pretend to be someone I'm not... I am who I am, love me or not, It won't change ME!!! (Put this on your status if your proud of who you are :) Sent to me by my friend, Sylvia... I am, too, posting it...lol!)".
