More about Cathy:"I am a teacher in my 18th year. I taught elementary at many levels for 15 years. I recently moved from Denver, my home of 16 years, to be closer to my aging mother in Cortez Colorado. This is the town I grew up in, so it was sort of like coming home although ...Expand for more
Cortez has changed significantly since I left. I definitely like being back in a small town. I frequently see deer, skunks, raccoons, etc. on my way to work in the morning. I can also run five to seven errands in approximately 45 minutes (this was a laughing matter the first time out after living in Denver for so many years).
This is my third year teaching at the middle school- 6th grade science and reading. I love seeing all of my different students (about 105) during the day.
Luckily, I stumbled into a wonderful church here in Cortez. I met the pastor and his family at a mutual friend's party. I was so impressed with he and his family, that I decided I should check out the church. The church members are also loving, fun, friendly so I decided to make this my second home. I miss my church family when I do not attend on a regular basis.
