Cathy's Story
Life
After High School I did odd jobs, and went to YVCC for 2 years. I got married in 1980 and have 2 children, who are adult age, now. I worked at the local YMCA for 13 years, worked at SEARS, and now work in the Yakima School District as a Paraeducator. My husband Doug and I are still married, just paid off the house mortgage purchased a GMC truck. We have recently gotten into homebrewing our own beer, and look forward to seeing everyone at reunions.
School

t was Miss Barbara Bird. One of the most funniest things was trying to catch the bookstore mouse that nibbled on the chocolate candy bars. Senior year I went to all the home basketball games. I enjoyed the school spirit and went to a couple of school dances and always enjoyed the music. Spirit of 76
College
I went to YVCC and got a teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education. I met a lot of people from the church SEARCH group who also went to YVCC. We went to HUB dances and socialized with others in neighboring cities.
Workplace
I work at McKinley Elementary here in Yakima. Our daughters went to school there. It is 2 blocks from my home. It's my ideal job.
Military
I took the initial test to get into the Air Force. I got an apptitide in electronics. What a joke! Praise to all the men and women who were and are in the military.
