Cathy's Story

I am very happily married to Brad Varney. We have been married for 9 years. I have a daughter Paige who is in 9th grade at Oakridge High School and is into gymnastics, cheerleading, pageants and track. My son Brock is in 7th grade at the Middle School and he loves football, baseball, basketball and track. My husband and I own Varney's Mechanical Contrating. A welding and fabrication company. I am lucky enough to pretty much be a stay at home mom. I do the billing for our company and coach the Oakridge High School and Middle School cheerleaders. I love it! I have also started an All Star Cheer program at Gonyon's and have 2 all star teams that compete around Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. So I have about 40 "daughters" all together and I love all of them. It keeps me young! I still get to go to all the pep assembly's, football games, high school dances.... it's like I never graduated. Except I get paid to go. LOL We do a lot of traveling. Brad and I love to scuba dive. We got certified a few years ago with Oceans Sands Scuba of Holland and did...Expand for more
our open water dives in Bonaire, Netherlands. In the summer, I like to be below water instead of above. I love exploring the underwater world. We spend a lot of time in the summer at our cabins in Traverse City. I am also an internet junky. I love Ebay. Always buying and selling stuff. My life pretty much revolves around my kids. They are involved in everything, so they keep me busy. But it keeps them out of trouble. I have a 2 year old Rottweiler named Belle who is like our 3rd kid. She doesn't know she is a dog. She goes everywhere with us. I have 10 nieces and nephews and just became great aunt to Kennedi (Andy's), Mikey (Krystals) and Kylee and Gracie, Shanda and Dans twins. I love having babies in the family again! We live out on Maple Island Rd about a 1/2 mile back in the woods on Black Creek. Give the kids and Brad lots of room to play on the dirt bikes and snowmobiles. I can't believe our 20 year reunion is coming up! It doesn't seem like that long ago we were walking the halls of OHS. I can't wait to see everyone!
