Cathy's Story

After graduation, I started working for the state, where they trained me to be a medical transcriptionist. I also worked for a while in an insurance agency, but went back to doing transcription. I spent much of the 80's in a bowling alley. It was there that I met my husband, Tom. We lived together for 7 years and then married in 1996. My husband has a son and a daughter and three grandkids! In the mid-90's I won a radio contest (brand new Ford Ranger) so I sold it and bought my first computer. I started working from home right around the same time I got married and have been doing that since. Doing transcription from home has been...Expand for more
a blessing as I had my son in 1998 and was able to stay home with him, yet still had an income. In 2000 at the age of 25 months, he was diagnosed with moderate-to-severe autism. Raising a child with autism is very isolating, as is working from home! My son is doing very well...he truly is the light of my life. However, for the last 11 years, my entire life has revolved around him. Now that he is doing so well, I have more time for myself and am ready to reconnect with some of my old friends as well as to meet new ones. I also just started selling Avon. I'd love to hear what others have been up to! I am also on Facebook, by the way.
