Cathy Haines Gray:  

Life Well, I met the love of my life in 1982, Shane Gray. We married in 1989 and then moved to Florida in 1992 and have been here ever since. I am a college student now, imagine that! I am slowly working towards a Ph.D. in Anthropology with special focus on archaeology. Because of school I was able to do an intership at Shamu Stadium, Sea World Orlando. I collected data on a neonate killer whale and his mother for nearly a year. From September 2000 to May 2004 I was the (volunteer) director of the archaeology lab for Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida under the direction of Dr. Marilyn Stewart. I work with all of the artifact collections doing cataloging, illustrations, reconstruction, and analysis on everything from ancient pottery remains to osteological remains. I have done Mesoamerican pottery reconstruction for Drs. Arlen and Diane Chase of the University of Central Florida, for one semester, as well. I also did work with Dr. Michael Smyth, also of Rollins College, doing Mesoamerican lithics analysis on the obsidian lithic artifacts he has found at his excavation site in the Yucatan over the past several years, the ancient Maya city called Chac.
