Cameron's Story
School
My maiden name is Cathy Lyons. I attended Kindergarten and most of 1st grade at Vernor Elementary in Detroit.
In 1966 my family moved to Olde Franklin Towne in Farmington and I attended the second half of 1st grade at Eagle Elementary.
When Fairview Elementary opened in Fall 1966 I attended 2nd to 6th grade there. I then attended East Jr High for 7th and 8th grade.
At the end of 8th grade my family moved to Santa Barbara, California where I completed the 9th grade at La Colina Jr. High.
In 1974 I began high school at San Marcos High School in SB, and I graduated from SMHS in 1977.I just attended my 30th reunion on August 18 iin Santa Barbara
I've always remembered my friends from Fairview Elem and East Jr. High and have wondered what became of them. I corresponded with many friends for two years after we moved, but eventually I lost touch with everyone. I've only been back to Detroit 3 times in 34 years. On my last trip in Oct 2003, I brought my then 5 yr old daughter Kimberlee and I had a nostalgia trip showing her all the places where I grew up. I got to take her on a tour of Fairview. But when I went to East, it was post 9/11 and they wouldn't even let me walk around the school. I've always thought it would be great to go back for a reunion with the friends I had between 1966-1973, since that was my childhood.

in Newport Beach since 1992. I'd love to be in touch with my classmates from Michigan. I am even considering attending the HHS 30th reunion, but I'd have to know I'd see enough people I know or remember me to make it worthwhile. College
Started college at UCLA in 1977. After two years at UCLA I transferred to Calif State Univ, Northridge to study business administration. (I hadn't realized that UCLA didn't have an undergraduate business program.)As an undergraduate I was very involved in Student Government and lots of other organizations at both UCLA and CSUN. At CSUN I was an Alpha Phi, and served 2 yrs on the Student Senate as Senator from the School of Business. Senior year my sorority put me up for Homecoming Queen and I served on the Homecoming Court.
In 1986 I returned to UCLA to pursue my MBA at the Anderson School of Business.I continued my fulltime position at Rockwell International as a Subcontracts Administrator for the first year of the program, and as a fulltime student for the rest of the program. My father died six months after I graduated, so I moved home to Santa Barbara/Montecito to manage my family's commercial real estate business in 1990. In 1992 I moved to Newport Beach to live closer to my future husband, Robert Allen whom I married in 1993.
