Cathy's Story
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Ryan Smith, because he was my square dancing partner in gym class for 4 years in a row and I just adored him! He was a really great friend!.
I would love to see Mrs. Dambly from my 8th grade English class and recite the entire monologue from "Jabberwocky"!! To this day, I STILL KNOW IT!!!
If there was one thing I could do over in my life, It would probably be to have applied myself better in school and to have gone on to become the dental hygienist I still yearn to be. I still regret that.
One of my first memories of coming to Southern Elementary School was Dawn Marple. I know Dawn probably has absolutely no recollection of this!! My very first day of school there, we were lining up to go to recess and here I was all alone, and Dawn shouts out "I'll be your friend at recess!" to me. I will always remember that!
I would love to see Mr. Blum again. I loved this man, though many of you tortured him so badly!! I will never forget h...Expand for more
is first day of school. It was our sophmore year and hot as hell and Mr. Blum is in a three piece WOOL suit and sweating...it was gray..and very out dated. (much like himself!) But Mr. Blum grew on me. His passion for teaching attracted me as a student- I could see it in the way he cared about his students getting the material he was teaching...and I loved the way he taught. He made you interested in those damn leaves and I will never forget the way I bs'ed my way through an essay question and I got my test back and he hand wrote on it "School closed due to snow." I went up to him because I thought since it was Winter that school may have been closed and he didn't get a chance to grade it. He just smiled at me and said "Nice try Petros!" As in snow job- DUH!!! And I didn't even have highlights back then!!
The wildest thing I ever did in high school was crawl on my hands and knees down the hall singing "Hungry Eyes" to Doug Hall in front of everyone- good lord, why didn't anyone stop me??!!
