Celia's Story
Celia is a native San Josean. Celia is happily married to classmate Bob Krippene since 1987, and has lived in the Rose Garden neighborhood for 40 years.
Celia's schools include Piedmont Hills High School, San Jose State University (Home Economics and Art), California Culinary Academy (Chef Training), and the University of South Carolina (Chef Training)..
Celia worked as a Home Ec and Art teacher at Archbishop Mitty High School, then off to the Fairmont Hotels (Fine Dining Chef) in SF and San Jose. When she throughly missed working with teenagers, Celia went back to teaching...first at the Santa Clara County Jails(!) teaching nutrition and cooking in a microwave to incarcerated men and women, then off to Notre Dame High School as a Vice Principal and teaching one Culinary class, and ended her career at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale for 19 years, teaching Culinary Arts and Careers...a job she ...Expand for more
truly loved and would not have retired if she hadn't fallen on a puddle of soapy water in her classroom and broke her leg and cracked her hip! After surgery, many months of recovery, Celia returned to her classroom for the last 6 weeks to clean up and said goodbye to her beloved students.
Celia retired June 2018 and is happy traveling the world with Bob, relaxing and working in her beautiful garden (courtesy of Bob's hard work!), and being with her 2 beloved Poodles: Zorro (in the pix) and Coconut (sweet and tiny!)
One more thing....Celia is sad that no one stepped up to head our 50th Reunion! She worked on the Committee for the 5th, 10th and 15th...and that was plenty! She would be happy to help, but not spearhead the entire thing!!! Hint, Hint to all of you out there!!
Celia's favorite athletes include the USA Women's Soccer Team.
