Charlen's Story
Life
I have come a long way from that fat shy kid who hid the entire four years in the student store!
I am the controller for Riverside - San Bernardino County Indian Health, Inc. on the Morongo Reservation in Banning. We run all the clinics on all the reservations in the two counties. I have worked there 36 years now.
In college I was encouraged by one of my professors to apply for Mensa Membership(the high IQ society,and was found eligible. It is one of my joys. I also belong to Toastmasters and have earned my DTM (Distinguished Toast...Expand for more
Master) which is the highest you can go.
My 26 year old son, Teddy, who is a member of the Torres-Martinez Band of Cahuilla Indians, graduated from Cal State San Bernardino, and now works with youth for the native challenge program at my work place . He is the light of my life.
We live in Beaumont, CA and still show German Shepherds. I have also begun showing Chihuahuas.
I love to travel and have visited 49 of our 50 states, and 5 Canadian Provinces. Like everyone, my life has had its ups and downs, but all in all, I have been happy.
