Charlene's Story
I taught High School English at Flushing High School, Flushing MI from 1974-1985.
Pink-slipped. Received my Master's Degree in Library Science from U of M Ann Arbor and have been a Children's Librarian at Detroit :Public Library since 1985.
Have worked at 12 different branches. We are transferred, sometimes for a new experience. Other times
because someone else wanted a transfer and we get caught up in the mix.

ely Branch at Michigan and Martin. Love it.
Children's librarians visit the schools in their service area, plan programs for the children in the neighborhood.
We also work with the adult customers who use our branches.
Am an Assistant Manager as well.
Married since 1990. No children. Have had furry kids.
Could retire but still enjoy working so who knows when I will decide.
Still feel young in the mind but body not quite so young anymore.
