Charlene's Story
Life
Steve Gamet (classmate & hubby) and I moved to North Lake Tahoe in 1978 and we havn't found a better place to live or raise kids so we're still here. Married in 1979. Have 4 GREAT kids. Emily 10/80, Kyle 10/82, Sandra 10/86 and Erin 2/89. 2 off to college and back and 2 finishing up High School. Steve always wanted to build our own home so in 81-82 we did and have built many more since. Just finished one in Tahoe Donner area. You can see it on janiesharp.com 11496 Zermatt for a virtual tour or photos. Our son Kyle 22 has learned the trade from the ground up on this house and we plan to build many more. We all pitch in a make it a real family project. Michelle Portesi (classmate & neighbor/friend) Provided the cabinetry for this one.
We love to kayak, hike, bike, snow & water ski, snowboard, camp, travel, cruise, snowshoe, attend kids sporting events, etc. every chance we get.

Workplace
I was lucky in that I got to stay home and raise the kids for 18 years. Volunteered for everything. Room mother for everyone every year, Girl Scout leader 16 yrs for 3 troops. PTO Chair positions for 11yrs and VIPs (Middle school equivelant) 5 yrs. Then we moved to Truckee for better schools and I went into hiding. Got my real estate license and became a realtor. It was the natural thing to do after building, remodeling, buying & selling RE for so many years it was time to get paid for it. I love my job. Joined a team & Coldwell Banker and love to help people realize there dreams.
Steve does everything from designing our homes to pounding nails, as a hobby - his real job is Protech Computer Consulting, his own business.
