Charlene's Story
Life
Asheboro was a great place to grow up and I have fond memories.
It just seems I was always moving away. Now living in Virginia Beach with my wonderful husband who is a retired Naval Officer, and my teenage son and daughter. I come back home about once a month to visit all my family and miss the small town life.
CONTINUING MY FIGHT WITH CANCER
School
School was great I just didn't know it then.
Having a new car (Blue Gremlin) at 16 was cool, but having to leave school to go to work everyday at Tommy's Drive Inn to pay for it, was hard. I wish I had not moved away...Expand for more
and was able to finish at Asheboro High. I come back home about once a month and always love to see family, old friends, and classmates. There is no place like home!!! I would love to hear from old class mates!
Workplace
It all started with some volunteer teaching at the Virginia Beach Health Department/WIC Program. Sixteen years later I am still there and feel it is the best job for me. As a lactation consultant/labtech. I keep busy and I am never bored. My job is rewarding however it would be nice to have my own busniess. As for retirment I can't imagine not working!
