Charly's Story

Life Let's see, 10 years in the Army (8 in Germany) and 24 years as a nurse, that's scary. I was blessed with 34 1/2 years with the love of my life, until she moved on to the next world. Our daughter graduated from Marquette in 2008 and completed her Masters at ASU in Speech Pathology and Spanish this May. Althgouh not standing next to me as I gave our daughter away June 19th at Gesu Chapel in Milwaukee, she was there and so happy to see our daughter begin her new life with her love, Mark Hamilton. Life is too short not to enjoy every bit you can. Although at times life can be hard and difficult to understand I have been blessed with the short time of 34 1/2 years with Norma Jo, and so many friends throughout the years. We've roasted every summer since 1988 in Phoenix, and some day I will move to Minneapolis to be close to them and future grandchildren. I'm trying to find a lot of great people that have touched my life over the last 40 years -- thinking of the fun and not always fun things that happened helps get through some unpleasant times. . g me the drive to do something to make a difference and be happy with it. Although I began at NMSU in 1970 where I met my wife, I finally graduated with my degree in Nursing in 1984 (the long long term plan). Workplace I have had a varied career in nursing including neonataol nursing, orthopedic nursing, geriatric nursing, transport nurse, extra corporeal life support and many years in nursing "management". I'm now working in Home Health going to patient's homes and providing the care and support they need, which is exrmely rewarding. Every day leads to new challenges and rewards through the experiences life gives you.. Military Since I quit NMSU to "find myself" in 1972 and then finding out that Uncle Sam really wanted me, I spent the next ten years in the Army (8 of that in Stuttgart, Germany). My job was a court reporter and my last assignment was 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. My experience in the Army was fantastic affording me an opportunity to live in other places, especially Germany, and experience so much life has to offer. Yes, I even enjoyed the 4 mile runs every morning when I was at Fort Campbell -- a habit I have not kept up with.
