Charles's Story
Life
Still in the South Bay; Married; 3 stepchildren, I call my own, I've raised since they were babies; have a grandson named Evan born in August 08! :).
After High School I worked for General Telephone of California as a Techie and Lineman for 17 years.
Now I'm an electrician/mechanic for United Airlines (17years) and own a private cabling and wiring installation company installing networks for commercial and residential sites - like to stay busy.
To relax from work, I like to zone in my little Zen garden at home, practice Tai-Chi and other Martial Arts, love to go see live music at small venues, play my guitars, hang with the wifey and friends.
On my days off I like to have a beer or three. With a great dinner I like sippin' on some excellent wine. One of my hobbies is brewing my own beer in the garage with our beer club and friends. What else goes with all that? Why playing my guitar and barbequeing with family and friends of course!
To keep the pounds off and beer from collecting in not so wanted places, I'm a complete outdoor enthusiast and am into: Off-road quad and motorcycle riding (sorry about that Sierra Club), Body Surfing; Boogie Boarding; Riding my Jet-ski's; Skiing; Camping and traveling in our RV and seeing some grea...Expand for more
t stuff out there, waking up about 5ish in the morning and going to the gym (still trying to get the wife to buy into that, lol). Waking up that early's great - you get to watch life renew itself over again!
Never finished College but graduated from the School of Trial and Tribulations with a degree in Analytical Studies of Human Interaction at Work and in Office Politics, with continuing post-graduate studies on 'learning how to be the complete husband and father 101' :-)!
Keeping my perspective as to how the rest of the world relates to us and us to them, I've used, and continue to use my airline bennies wisely allowing me to fly into some historic and exotic locations around this planet and meet some cool people. Still have other places to go with the wifey, both here and there!
One thing that keeps me grounded is my family. My wife and kids are central to everything. My parents are both healthy and alive and I'm grateful for that. I'm busy but always in touch with my family and that is first and foremost. I make sure when there's down time we spend it together.
Had our ups and downs, just like all of you, but can count more good times than bad!
With all that I just want to grow old gracefully like vintage wine!!
Peace to all
