Charles's Story
Greetings Grizzlies class of 1980. I can't believe that 36 years have gone by since graduating from Queen Anne High School. After graduating, I went to Shoreline Community for a short stint and then transferred to Green River Comm. College. I took my transfer credits on down to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1983 and received a BS Degree in Aeronautical Science in 1987. I tried to relocate to Seattle and flight instruct for a bit, however, I ended up in Bellingham for about 6 months flight instructing and flying charter flights out to the San Juan's and neighboring areas. I then when to work for my Alma mater in Prescott, AZ for about 6 months flight instructing until getting a job at a company called Ameriflight flying freight around the country in smaller twin engine aircraft. uary 8, 1990 I started flying for Horizon Airlines. Also in 1980, I married my wonderful wife Janet and we started are adventure together. I spent 11 years at Horizon Air flying the Metroliners, Dash-8's and the Fokker F-28's. In 2001, Southwest Airlines called me and I went to work for them on March 01, 2001. About 9 and a half ago, I upgraded to Captain and have been extremely happy with my position and the company as well. Janet and I have no children, just cats, and live in the Las Vegas, NV area, which is also my domicile. Should you ever find yourself on a Southwest flight, feel free to stick your head up in the Flightdeck and say hello. I may even be your Captain that day.
