Charles's Story
College
After leaving high school, it was off to the military for me. I retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years. I made a few great friends that I have lost contact with and currently searching to find them. I'm not sure how I managed to stay 20 years. After reflecting, it was the chance to see and experience different countries and cultures. I live in San Antonio my first 4 years, then Virigina for 4 years. After that I headed overseas where I was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. Then back to dear Texas (it's amazing that I always ended up back in Texas...LOL). While stationed in the wonderful city of Wichita Falls, I was selected to spend a tour in Saudi Arabia. I went with some trepidation, but, I fell in love with the country. In some ways it's like Texas. You can go from monuntainous ranges (th...Expand for more

scuba diving in the Red Sea (flashback to Moses parting it in "The Ten Commandments"). For some reason, I felt strangely at home. Then back to Wichita Falls, where despite the best efforts of some, I retired. After retiring, I worked slinging pizzas for about 6 months (ugh), then I began working in the base gym. It allowed me to become personal trainer certified. I left there and attempted to do Correction Custody Officer where I passed the training, but, had no stomach for the job. I left there and relocated to the city of Leander (read Austin suburub) and currently work for the Dept of Transporation in the Permit Section. While I have been working there I managed to attain my Masters Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Healthcare. That's been my life in a nutshell.
