Charles 's Story
Life
After HS, I attended the Morrison Institute of Technology. I graduated with an AS in Mech. Eng. Technology. I then went to work for Sargent & Lundy Engineers (Nuclear Power Plant Design) in Chicago. After a few years, it was obvious that I was not moving in the direction that I wanted. I had an offer from Sandia National Laboratories (US Defense Systems) in Albuquerque, NM out of college, so I made contact and accepted a position with them. I have been with Sandia Labs for 17+ years now. I have worked on projects and visited places that I couldnÂt have dreamed of. I can't tell you about them, or I'd have to kill you. Just kidding (or so they tell us to say we're kidding).
In my other life (away from work), I am happily married to my wife of 17+ years, Elaine. ...Expand for more
We have 4 children and a wonderful life together.
Bowling has been a big part of my life since the early eighties (in fact, I met Elaine in a bowling center). Before marriage, I had professional aspirations. In the last few years, I began to get a little more serious about it, and progressed to the point of it becoming a reality. I bowled in a couple of pro tournaments as an amateur (to get my feet wet, and see if I could hang with the Âbig dogsÂ. In my second and third tourneys, I finished in the top half. So last year I joined the Professional Bowlers Association. In my first tournament as a Pro, I made the finals and finished in 12th place . I have only bowled in two since (due to work and family obligations), but I am hoping for more success in the near future.
