Charles's Story
Life
Well I joined the Army a couple of years after Graduation. I was stationed in New York with the Tenth Mountian Divition for three years and then Fairbanks Alaska for 3 years. I then moved back to Bakersfield for a while as a Recruiter for the Army National Guard. I then moved back up to Alaska. This time to Juneau, where I started working as a Minner With a company called Greens Creek Minning Co. I was also a part of the Army National Guard doing the weekend worior thing. Iraq and spent a year fighting Terrorisim. After the deployment I got back to Juneau and went back to work for the mine. I got out of the Army Guard for a couple of years and rejoined in 2008. In 2010 I stated recruiting for the Alaska Army National Guard and found out recruiting was not for me, so I found my true calling and am now working for the State of Alaska as a Correctional Officer with the Department of Corrections at Lemon Creek Correctional Center. But I am still doing the weekend thing for the AK Army Guard.
