Charles's Story
Graduated in May of '63. Went to Alabama for two years then married, dropped out, joined the Army in Jan., '66 - a very scary time. Trained at Ft. Bliss as a RADAR tech, spent 8 years in the Army in Pittsburgh, PA, & Germany. Divorced in 1971. Two children from that marriage (Patrick,, Col. in the Air Force now retired & Erin, lives in B'ham. Five grandchildren. Got out of Army in Jan., '74 & went to work for Scientific Products on clinical lab instruments. Remarried, Oct., '74, one stepson, lives in Greensburg, Pa.
'75-'79 worked for Docutel/NCR on ATMs.
1980-joined Navy Reserve, retired as a PO1 in Jan., '96.
Second divorce, 1983. Remarried '85 and still married to Trish. We have two sons, both work in dental offices

In 1995, after 6 years of sobriety, I felt God calling me into ministry, and in 2000, I left Honeywell in Salt Lake City and returned to Birmingham to attend seminary full time at Beeson Divinity School at Samford Univ.
In 2003 I was called to a little country church in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, was ordained there in Nov., 2003, and retired after nearly 12 years service in 2015. Named Pastor Emeritus in 2016. Move to Powell, TN, near Knoxville, after retirement.
2018 - 2020, worked as an Investigator for Perspecta doing background investigations for the govt. 01/2020, back to being retired.
What a marvelous testimony to God's truly amazing grace!!! that He could take a rotten old sinner like me, pick him up, clean him up, and make of him a new creature in Christ!!! I highly recommend it :o)
