Charles Dee's Story

Life Well, I started out as a baby and then on to Cornell Heights Elementary and later to Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio. After graduation, I went to Bowling Green State University graduating in 1969. My first job was with the Warren County Health Department in Lebanon, OH. After a couple of years, I returned to get a Masters Degree (73) at the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering. In 1971, I married a 20-year-old Centerville, Ohio girl, Joanne Harris. We went on to have 3 children - Chad (74), Kyle (77) and Alison (81). In 1973, we moved to Columbus, OH where I worked with the Ohio Department of Health and then left for Chicago, IL in 1976 to work for what is now the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association. In 1979, I began working for Red Lobster (owned by General Mills at the time) and moved again, this time to Orlando, FL. After 23 years heading up the Quality effort at Darden Restaurants (Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Smokey Bones) I "retired" and opened up my own business – CDC Global Quality and Safety Consultants in Orlando, FL. For those who remember my great parents, Lucille and Charlie, my mom died in 1999 from complications from a severe stroke in Dayton. Six months later, a doctor who botched an angiogram test during a diagnosis killed my dad. Both are buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vandalia. My oldest son, Chad works for AAA and lives near Orlando with his wife, 2 daughters and son. My son Kyle works as a General Manager for a restaurant in Orlando and is unmarried. My daughter, now Alison Velez is married with one son; she received her BS Degree from the University of Central Florida in Hospitality Management and now works for Florida Hospital. Luckily for me, all 3 kids live independently on their own yet close to Orlando. Fortunately, I have been able to travel throughout the world over the years, seeing unique things and things I never want to see again. In my opinion, the most “perfect” place in the world is Lake Tahoe CA/NV. Definitely, my opinion but based upon many choices that I have personally seen. My ultimate desire is to eventually get a vacation home in the Lake Tahoe area. Feel free to contact me. School I enjoyed my 4 years at Fairview High. Like driving my 1960 Renault Daulphine to school and selling tickets to the athletic events during lunch hours. I appreciated winning the Senior Award for the male student with the most school spirit along with the female winner Connie Hartley. I wonder what ever happened to that pretty and sexy girl? The best part of my four years was all the great and precious people I met along the way. I have often wondered how I ever let so many of those relationships get away. I hope to hear from those who read this document. Workplace C. DEE CLINGMAN, President CDC GLOBAL QUALITY & SAFETY Owns and operates a consulting business assis...Expand for more
