Charles's Story
Life
After BHS, I went to Harvard from 73-77. I joined Air Force ROTC (was the first to do so from Harvard since 1969-caused many problems--who me?) I then went to Harvard Medical School from 77-83. I went active duty immediately after graduating from Med School. I went to Flight Surgeon school for 4 months and then was shipped to Korea where I flew F-4E fighters and RF-4C reconnasaince jets for 2 years. Met my beautiful wife, Kyong Suk, there on a blind date. I always said I would never get married or go on a blind date. I guess I was wrong. We have been married for 22 years. We have 2 children. Charles II who is my clone with slanted eyes - age 18 and Theresa who is a definate "10" at age 16 She is georgeous, looks Polynesian with her mom's oriental but light brown eyes and my dark complexion and wavy hair. I have "runoff" about a dozen potential boyfriends (loosers). They think I'm mean. She had one for a year until about 3 months ago. Bad breakup. to Florida for 8 years and flew f-15's (including a combat mission) until I left the Air Force. I applied to be an astronaut (mission specialist), came almost close but no cigar. So at the age of 37 I went "back to school" and did a Radiology residency at Yale from 93-97. While in my residency I wrote a chapter on Neuroradiology in a radiology textbook. I spent one more year there doing an MRI/CT fellowship after which I came here to Nashville to work. I was teaching (Associate Professor) at Vanderbilt and Meharry Medical schools for 4 years and recently left for private practice in May 1 of 2002. We had just bought a new house.. oh!, the pain...and then settled in. My "new" job sucked and I left after a year. I have been with my current partners for over 4 years. My kids are now teenagers. Charles is in his first year at Univ of TN. Go Vols! My daughter is a junior in high school and is cosiderring Harvard or Vanderbilt. I have been told that God's gift to you for not killing your kids is grandchildren. We'll see. Call me at 615-347-4387 (cell phone is one of my appendages).
