Charles's Story
My wife (of 42 years) and I spent our working years teaching for the Nashville Public School system in Nashville, Tennessee. My wife was chairman of the English department of our top academic magnet school, and I taught in the Madison community of Nashville where many of the country music people lived. I considered the job of teaching to be a joy, and never took a day off in all of the years that I taught because I was afraid that something might happen that I would miss out on. Every day was an adventure. The wildest event that ever happened took place in March of 1993 when I spent three days sitting on a bus on I-75 in northern GA, trapped in the aftermath of a blizzard. trip.....yes, we had a restroom on board.
I fully retired in 1995. Since retiring, I spend a lot of time playing with my motorcycles and cars, and when not riding with friends on the great motorcycle roads of hilly Tennessee, spend time sharing information with other gear-heads on tech-forms via the Internet. My wife and I also have a passion for travel and spend part of the year on the west coast, in Canada, Florida, and other places as the mood strikes.
I have many fond memories of the town with the flow-through sulphur-water swimming pool where the kids had the run of the town without having fears of being abducted. It was a fun place to grow up. I also have great memories of the friends that I shared fun-times and adventures with. Life has been good!
