Charley's Story

Life I was born in Monroe,La. on October 8th 1958.I was the 1st of five children born to Viney Davis and DR.Charley Richard,Sr.I was raised in Peck,La. and attended Martin JR HIGH and Sicily Island high school.I also played three years of football and basketball at Sicily Island high school were we won 3 district championships under coach Joe Raymond Peace Sr.I then attended Grambling State University were I played football under Eddie Robinson,Sr.After college I had a brief stint with the Houston oilers and New orleans saints. aching career started at Prairie View University were I spent two years then to Knoxville college for one year and Grambling State for three seasons.I have also coached at Sicily Island high school and Ferriday high school, I am presently living in Houston,Tx. married and with four kids,my wife name is Shari Akins-Richard and she is from Wisner of all places.I guess there was some good in Wisner after all.Right now I am really enjoying life. My life long dream is to coach in the N.F.L. and be a great product of Sicily Island high school.One day I hope to move back to Peck,La. and live happily ever after.
