Life Charlie Floyd Biography Charlie Floyd’s debut album on Capital Records kicks off with the distant wail of a southbound train ready to take you on a ride you will never forget. Charlie Floyd is a seasoned performer, a proven crowd pleaser and a regional legend in the Carolina’s. He grew up in Aynor, South Carolina, the son of a bluegrass and country music loving farmer. Charlie was an accomplished guitarist by the age of ten. Throughout high school Charlie earned money entertaining crowds waiting in lines at local restaurants. Following graduation and a move to California he formed his own band and traveled the state playing festivals and county fairs. Maybe it was the roar of a southbound train, or the intense love of his southern roots but ultimately Charlie headed home. He moved home and hit the local circuit in 1988. After a time playing at clubs and venues Charlie decided to open his own club, aptly called Charlie’s Nitelife. At the age of twenty-one his club started thriving and soon people from all over the state and southeast were waiting in line to get into Charlie’s Nitelife to check out his show. In 1993 Charlie was discovered by a Nashville producer and signed a major record contract with Capitol Records shortly thereafter. Charlie’s ace in the hole is himself.
