Charlotte's Story
Life
Went to Santa Barbara, Ca to attend UCSB after leaving Sonoma, and lived there until 2003. Worked as a cosmetologist for 13 years specializing in haircuts and chemical services; artistic director of a premier salon for 3 years. Played around in amateur theater during the '70's and after retirement from cosmetology worked two seasons for the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera as key hair and makeup in early '90's.
Married 26 years as of 2007; 1 daughter (deceased at age 26), 4 stepdaughters, (30--35); 8 grandchildren (1 1/2--20), two of which we have reared since babyhood, now 16 and 17 years old and juniors in high school. Lived in Solvang first 10 years of our marriage where Jess had his CPA practice and Carpinteria as well as Santa Barbara proper. While in Solvang I studied oil painting and developed a love for painting plein air landscapes. I had to put away my paints when we inherited the babies and hope to paint again very soon now that my time is again becoming my own.

violin in a senior orchestra at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. Love it! Live in Utah since 2003. I love travel but until this summer our destinations have been limited. Visited Italy 2 weeks summer of 2007 with my brother, Walt: Florence, Sienna, Sicily (birthplace of my maternal grandparents),Rome, Pompeii. Loved Cefalu', Sicily. We also took Alaska inside passage cruise in June with our grandaughter's Ballroom performance team. The kids put on 4 shows in the main theater aboard the MS Noordam. We have enjoyed vacationing in Moorea, Tahiti for past 24 years. We have decided we are Polynesian spirits trapped in Haoli skins. Planning a 20 day Mediterranean cruise this summer so Jess can see some of Italy, too.
My mom now lives with us so we can better meet her needs. She suffers from Parkinsons disease among other things and can't live on her own any longer. It has been a bit of an adjustment going from living at sea level most of her life to being almost a mile high.
Life is Good.
