Cheri's Story
Hi everyone,
As with most of us, life is quite different since the valley days. I'm married and living in Hederson, NV. Nice change from the corn desert of Central Illinois.
After college, I taught (mostly high school) and coached (volleyball, basketball, and softball) for about 10 years. I went to Long Beach State and earned a master's in PE and was able to coach volleyball on the college level for about 7 years.
From there I returned to graduate school and got a masters in Marriage and Family. I was a marriage, family, and child counselor for several years until deciding to return to college teaching.
In 2002 I earned my doctorate in Educational Technology worked at Illinois State University, earning the rank of Associate Professor at Illinois State University. I retired in 2012 and am now an Academic Program Coordinato...Expand for more
r (Ed Tech and Learning Technologies) for Walden University. It's a great career and I'm enjoying it immensely.
My husband, Nick, completed his masters and taught history at college level. With our move to Nevada, he changed careers and is enjoying life as a realtor.
We enjoy traveling, bicycling, weight lifting, yoga, and our church, Sin City Church. God has been gracious to us, not only providing for our daily needs, but enabling us to appreciate the gift of life. In 2004, Nick received a new heart. After over 10 years of poor health as a result of cardiomyopathy, he now has a new lease on life. So we tell all our family, friends, and students to make sure they sign their donor cards and talk with their families. You can register at donatelife[dot]net - give the gift of life.
That's my story. I'd enjoy hearing from you.
