Cheri's Story
Life
I moved away from CT in 1991 and have returned infrequently to visit my parents in CT. (My parents and brother now live outside of Richmond, VA). Since 1991, I've lived in Washington, DC (2 years), Minnesota (6 years), and now Maryland (8 years) (with some trips to Russia in between).
I received a B.A. in Russian in 1993, a master's degree in Russian Area Studies in 1997, and was a Ph.D. candidate in Russian history (until May 2006 when I finally withdrew from the program due to the death of my advisor).
Paul Phillippi and I were married in June 1999 in Bloomington, MN (outside of Minneapolis). We have a beautiful little girl, Veda Josephine Wilson-Phillippi, who was born in August 2003.

reer change in 2003. I've worked in health care since that time. I'm currently a Quality Improvement Team Leader and get to assist several departments with their patient safety, quality, and process improvement efforts. I'm also working on yet another degree--a master's in health science (MHS) in Health Finance and Management with hopes of graduating in May 2009. Although I strongly believe learning is a lifelong process, this will be my LAST academic degree.
I like to travel and lived in Russia for a year between my 5 trips since 1993. My husband and I have also traveled to Bratislava, Budapest, London, Vienna, Montreal, Vancouver, and Toronto with lots of other places still to visit.
I still love to learn foreign languages and speak fluent French, Russian, and Spanish with a smattering of German.
