Cherie's Story

Served in the Army during the Vietnam Era, as a Personnel Specialist (Ft. Shafter, Hawaii), Admin Specialist (Presidio of San Francisco), and Broadcast Journalist (Southern European Network, Vicenza, Italy). Worked for Armed Forces Radio and TV Service (Civilian) as a Radio Producer, newscaster/sportscaster, Radio Master Control engineer, Internal Information Manager, and Asst. Supervisor for Radio Master Control. In High School, the Drama Club and Drama classes were my favorite. I designed a futuristic house plan in Drafting class. Favorite teachers were Mr. Taylor (History), Mr Hiett (Drafting), and Mr. Salvo, my counsellor. For Sandberg Jr. High.. I remember my eighth grade English teacher, Mrs Loo...Expand for more
mer. She was a funny lady. Mrs Sontag was my ninth grade English teacher. And there was my ninth grade history teacher, Mr Hyatt. He had taught History for my seventh grade class at Gordon School (while we were waiting for Goddard and Sandberg to be built). Mr. Rickard taught Earth Science.. to some people his class was boring, but I thought it was a very interesting class. And there was Roger Lewis, who was the Resource teacher. Roger moved to Northern California, around 1967. He was a great inspiration to me, and a great listener. Miss Paugh taught eigth grade French.. a very good teacher. And, Mrs Fuller's Home Economics class (eigth grade) taught me how to make Popovers, and how to sew a caftan.
