Mariam's Story
Life
From Detroit to Phoenix to LA to San Francisco and Berkeley, to Philadelphia and South Orange, to Mesa, to Madison, to Piscataway, to Baltimore and back to NJ its been an interesting life. Now to Tempe as of 10/09. One husband deceased, two kids, 6 grandkids, many wonderful friends, a Master's degree, 3+ careers, 15 minutes in the spot light, many beloved pets (horse, cats, dogs, bird, squirrels, ducks, fish, iguanas), the last cat spent 20 1/2 years with me (Nike),life has been a creative challenge. Just when I thought that I had seen or heard it all, something new comes up. What a ride it has been, and I suspect will continue to be. My next project is that book everyone wants me to write. Isn't it amazing that we can keep reinventing ourselves into our old age? I love it.
Has anyone seen Gar Engelking in the last 30+ years? let me know...
It is now 2008: I never got that degree. Health issues have become the focus instead.

12/15/2009: Well it is hello, not goodbye. I have come home, about to close on a house in Tempe. Life is beautiful and so is being home. So, if there is anybody still here in the Phoenix metropolitan area, let me know.
Semi retired, but still working half time. Loving the weather and the flowers in December.
The house is coming together, albeit a little at a time. I love the neighbors, the beauty, the wonder of this place. So, if you're out there, wondering about the name change, where I am, and wanting to get in touch, I expect I am in the white pages, on Google or Facebook or something. Call up, come on over if chaos doesn't bother you at all.
It is now 01/14/14! OMG. 2 more rescue kittens and a rescue dog later, which takes my furry children up to 6 in total, life continues to bring new people, new joys, and new challenges in my life. I love Tempe!!! Great place to land, especially when it was -02 degrees where I came from in the Northeast.
