Cheryl's Story
In March of 2012 The finest man I ever knew, My husband Tom Carter passed away. For 20 years we worked together everyday, side by side on our ranch. Those have been the best years of my life. We raised 2 children, many crops, over 200 horses & hundreds of cattle. My life with Tom was exciting & full. Every day was different. The work was hard & I loved it. My husband had the patience of Job with me, a city girl. Learning to live & work on a working cattle ranch. He taught me to drive tractors, plant gardens, pin cows & operate on injured livestock. ed in the tractor. My life changed in an instant. I still live on the ranch & run things the best I can. I have returned to working with the Judaical & criminal justice system. I am a court appointed mediator, & anger management counselor. I keep very busy, and take one day at a time. Work has been good for me. Keeping me & my mind busy. For those who knew my Dad, I adored him. He too, was the finest man I ever knew. So not to slight him, in my eyes Dad & Tom stood side by side. They have both gone to a better place. As for my children. They have grown up and live in other parts of the country. There are no grandchildren. Maybe one day.
