Cheryl's Story
Life
Have lived a very eclectic life since Reseda High...hit the road the night we graduated...have lived around the US and Europe...spent the most time out of LA in NYC, I guess but also lived in Hawaii, Colorado, Italy and France. The early years were very involved with Transcendental Meditation but that doesn't dominate so much now. Have been back here in LA for ages...my folks are still in the same house...just moved from Hollywood after 17 years and now reside in Studio City with husband, Robert and two sons, Xander & Xavier. The boys and I spent over a month in China (with 7 other teenagers) which was the adventure of a lifetime. Work extensively with grassroots organizations in Africa thru African Millennium Foundation. May be going to visit some of our projects. And I do a lot in the world of theatre ...acting, casting, producing and publicizing...as well as some forays into the film biz. Cast The V Monologues (not allowed to put the real title...jeez)during it's Canon Theater run and worked with Eve Ensler on The Good Body. Art and rock n roll still loom large...up...Expand for more
on current music and still go see whatever i can...when comped! Now that i have wild 15 and 17 year olds in high school I so much more appreciate what our parents had to endure...they are quite beautiful...thank god, because they can drive me mad on occasion. Constantly grappling with the big questions while trying to do my part politically and humanitarianly (is that a word?)...and consistently struggling for that legal tender...it's always something. Pleased to still be close with some folk from back in the day but also have a huge circle of friends that encompass every segment of society. My folks are still kicking and my brothers, Rich & Steven are OK...tho my little sis, Julie, died from stomach cancer Christmas time, 2006. We're all still reeling from that.
All in all, it has been a very satisfying ride which i hope continues for a while.
I continue to get one nutty gig after another but it's all better than a real job...am not a member of this so not sure how you can contact me...guess I'm listed in Studio City. Be well. Do something for the world. Have a ball...
