Cheryl's Story
2009
I'm a full professor of law and criminal justice at a small, private college in New Hampshire. I am married to Robert Petersen from Chicago, Il (who was a lecturer for a research methods class that I took at UW-Madison-which is how we met). We live on a small, 50 acre working horse farm in Massachusetts where we raise and train Newfoundland dogs and Arabian horses.
2015
Bob and I have retired and now live on a small farm in Horseshoe Bend, AR. Well...I'm only semi-retired as I still teach half time at University of Arkansas in criminal justice. I still ride - dressage with my Norwegian Fjord named Bennie and in the gaited horse world of Paso Finos with my little guy named Radiente de Ropa (called Radi). We have three dogs - one Newfoundland (probably our last Newfie as they don't do well with the Southern heat) and two cocker spaniels. I sh...Expand for more
ow my 2 year old cocker - Jason - buttry to keep it as 'just fun' and not too seriously.
Passions in life - animals of all kind(including my husband ;-) , reading 'trash' novels (LOVE my kindle and learning new 'stuff'. This summer, I plan to take a course at the University of TN at their Anthropology Department where they have the famous 'body farm'. The focus will be on identifying types of injuries on skeletal remains. I'm really looking forward to it. And, this weekend I"m going to a weekend seminar on show handling dogs in Joplin MO. Like many other 'little old ladies', I also belong to a bunco group - 12 women who get together once a month to play a game of dice, have snacks and imbibe in alcoholic beverages. (I call it my drinking and gambling night. And, I am trying to get in better physical shape and joined a 3x per week exercise class.
