Cheryl's Story
After high school, I left and went to West Germany and lived there for three years, upon our return, we lived in Savannah, GA for 4 years, after that we were sent to Alaska for 4 years, upon returning to the "lower' 48, we settled in Columibia, South Carolina. We have live here for over 20 years. We have 4 childern (3 girls and one Boy). All of our children are married with families of their own, except the youngest she is only 22. We don't mind it here.. it does get pretty hot in the summer, but we are not far away from Charleston or Myrtle Beach.. so it make it quite easy to go to these place without having to travel far. We do miss the north and we do come up for visits.. but I don't like snow after living in AK.. it was enough for me. Whatever you see on TV is true about AK. it really, really cold in the winter time and dark. All in all.. we have traveled to several places. but it's nice to go back to NY and remember what school was like and that it was it ok and we didn't have to worry about the things kids do today..
