Cheryl's Story
Life
Recently married and loving life. Certified Forrest Yoga Instructor, registered as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500 hour level with Yoga Alliance, National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, Reiki Master, Conscious Body Method Life Coach and Stand Up Paddle Board enthusiast. All of this has evolved from my years of working on Wall Street followed by being the Director of Office Automation for the City of New York and then some time as a Manager of a Group home. I currently teach yoga, work as a Personal Trainer and travel as often as possible. Prior to marrying the love of my life in November 2011, I traveled and taught yoga in South Florida, Rhinebeck, New York and Horquetas de Sarrapiqui, Costa Rica. I am affiliated with the Omega Institute for Holistic Health in Rhinebeck, New York.
School
The things I remember most about high school are: Mr. McDonald (he was a huge influence), the leadership conference, Avi Orienstein, the crush I had on Gary Mala, hanging out in Town Plot, racing cars on Tomlinson Avenue and Route 8 (always winning), announcing the football games, giving tours of the school, "Holy Cross is Number 1". College
I had a great time living in Barrows with Susan. College was fun - Alpha Phi Omega, Dr. Sherman, spending a little too much time at the local bar, weight training class, being the Saturday afternoon DJ on WFCS, spending a lot of time with my friend John Orazetti, who I've recently had contact with via Facebook. Those are just a few of the things I remember.
Workplace
I've had several very diverse careers - not counting the 21 jobs I had before I left Connecticut. I've worked on Wall Street, wrote the employment and promotion tests for the New York City Fire Department (those guys can cook!), was the Director of Office Automation for the New York City Department of Personnel, managed a group home for Adults with Mental Retardation. Presently I teach yoga and work as a Personal Trainer. I am fortunate enough to have time to travel while also taking advantage of amazing opportunities to study with master teachers in my field. . Now, I teach and study yoga full time - traveling around the country and internationally! I've created "The 12-Steps of Yoga", it is copyrighted and trademarked and currently being promoted in the United States, perhaps I'll see you at a class.
