Cheryl's Story
I live in a small town in Maine. Been living in Maine since 1983. I absolutely love it here. Come Jan. 2011 I will have been married to Doug White for 22 years. We both work at a paper mill in Jay, ME. He is an oiler and I'm just a common laborer. My official title is service operator. I use a big crane hanging from the ceiling to pick up 30 ton reels of paper from the paper machine and put it on top of a supercalendar. The supercalendar then shines the paper and I take it off and put it on a winder. The winder cuts the big reel down to 50 diameter rolls anywhere from 25 to 66 inches in length. These rolls are then sent to printers and they make magazines: National Geographic, Reader's Digest, "O", Victoria's Secret... among others, plus catalogue magazines...Expand for more
like LL Bean. With my job I also set up into the operator positions when they are on vacation and I run the machines. The number 5 paper machine makes food wrapper paper for McD's, Burger King, Wendy's, and all sorts of candy wrappers, I don't work over there though.
I remember some of the people from JCHS but I finished my first nine weeks of Junior year then went and got my GED.
My daughter is now 33 years old and I have a 13 year old grandson. They live in Texas as do my folks and my sister. My brother Ben, most of you may have known or remember him, passed away from lung cancer on 6 Mar. 2009, 10 days before his 50th birthday. I miss him terribly.
I collect stamps and coins, like watching movies, reading, listening to music and my passion: doing genealogy!!!
