Cheryl's Story

I graduated from high school in 1956 and went to work. I met my first husband and we were married for 19 1/2 years and had 4 children. After my divorce, I married my boss, whose wife had died of a heart attack 6 months after my divorce. We dated for about a year and then married. He had one son so now I have 5 children, 10 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren-counting steps. My second husband died of Alzheimer's in Dec. 2008 and my Mother died at the age of 100 in June 2009. I retired from Central Illinois Public Service Co. in 19...Expand for more
98, worked then for a web-developing firm for a year, then stayed home and took care of my husband until I had to put him into a nursing home. I went to work for the State of Illinois in Lottery and have been there every since. My first husband and I moved to ILL when our youngest was 2 yrs old. I now live in New Berlin, IL, which is just outside of Springfield. My second marriage lasted 30 years and was wonderful. We both were into rock hunting and even went rock hunting on our honeymoon. It has been a good life and I have been blessed!

Had lunch today with Grandson Jake, Daughter Christi, daughter in law Maria and my son Edd.  It was s great time talking, laughing, and eating!
From a "dead" bulb in my back yard, God has brought such beauty. There is still one more bud on this stalk ready to bloom. I really love these flowers.
