Life Hi There! Now that I'm 56, I guess it is indeed time to come back to you, the influences of Columbia Academy that gave me a lot of joy, believe it or not. Yep, enjoyed it so much I backed my husband's decision to become a faculty member for 6 years. I married Daniel Flinn in 1970 after getting my RN at Clark College in Vancouver,Wn. After he got his BA in English, we moved back to Vancouver for 3 years of teaching at Evergreen High School. It was Glen Davis, then principal of Columbia Academy and Earl Strunk, still treasurer, who prayed together that we would say "yes" to the call to come to Columbia Academy. They were in the front yard of the little house situated directly across from the "Welcome Walk", while Dan and I were praying in the backyard asking the Lord for direction. This was the house we were to rent from the school. We had recently purchased a new house near Evergreen High on an oversized builder's lot. Well, you guessed correctly by now. He took the job, feeling impressed that to say "Yes" to an opportunity to work in the Lord's vineyard was the way to go. So we moved while preparing for the birth of our first child. Dan had to take 21 hours of Bible correspondence that year to qualify to teach there. So changes were being made and have continued to keep life interesting. Six years were spent there, with Cheralee blessing the life of big sister Chandra. In 1980 we accepted the opportunity and challenge of overseas living and moved to Kenya, East Africa, where Dan taught English at the University College of Eastern Africa. Now that was an adventure! "Cool" things happen and you will find yourself in an experience you will never forget. But it will be for the best when you are serving the Lord will all of your heart.
