Cheryl's Story
Yes, I started at Darnell, then Horace Mann and finally Crawford. Did a couple of years of college but mostly focussed on working. Got married in '75 and had three kids girls in '76 & 78 and a son in '81. In '78 we moved to Santa Clara, CA because of my husbands job, then five years later he was transferred back to San Diego. Then in 1989 he was transferred to Austin, TX and I have been here ever since. My oldest daughter has two kids, my granddaughter (the light of my life and greatest gift ever) Cati will be 15 in December and then my grandson, Andrew is 5 1/2. After 31 years of marriage my husband decided he wanted something else in life. I had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and he couldn't deal with it so he left and a year later I got divorce papers. Any...Expand for more
way, I have battled cancer 3 times in the last 9 years and once again am in remission, hopefully for good. I have worked all my life, always in accounting and lately in medical billing. I have had great jobs and love working which is good because I will probably have to all my life. It was because of the Chemo treatments that I was unable to come to the last reunion, but I did get the card and that was really great. I was able to come home this last August to visit my parents. They still live in the same house we moved to in 1962, some things never change and that is really cool.
