Cheryl's Story
I filled out a profile a long time ago and it isn't here, maybe I didn't save it correctly. Well, I worked at Sav-On Drug on the Blvd for 13 years then decided I didn't want to be there as an old lady. My brother-in-law gave me several job descriptions from Rockwell Space Division. I interviewed for Timekeeping. I LOVED that job. I ended up the manager of the Palmdale Timekeeping Dept until March 17, 1992. I should of gone straight over to Northrup but I was having trouble with my eyes and seeing triple vision. Took a year of specialist to take care of that and then I was diagnosed bi-polar and I lost all confidence and went out on Social Security Disability. The medicatiopn caused me to gain 50 lbs which of course added more big time depression. I am slowly returning to the world. I work very hard on the 1961 reunions since the 20th. I am still on SSD, two pensions and I work part-time as a retail merchandiser, I have lost over 30 lbs...Expand for more
, try to keep myself put tpgether but have not dated for at least 10 years! I haven't found a recent photo I like because I am still as vain as ever. I have two daughters, Lela, from my marriage to Frank Acosta and Jamie, from my marriage to Al Pedigo. They each have a son so I have those four fabulous people I love deaely in my life. And I do keep in touch with old friends via phone or email but rarely visit. On the year of, the Antelope Valley High's 100 Centennial , its commitee planned it on the same week-end of the annual Old-Timer;s BBQ. I told everyone if they ever planned to go to the BBQ that was the year to attend as so many more people we went to school with would attend. I was right, we had so much fun, quite a few us now attend every year on the second Sunday in October, You should come to the BBQ, they always have great attendance, good food & drinks, a massive amount of memorabilia and AVHS yearbooks back to AVHS' inception.
