Life

College
I graduated from San Francisco State University with a Radio-Television Broadcast Communication Arts degree. I met my husband, Brad, in the dorms there. He used me for my iron.
In 2000, I went back to school for a teaching credential (not by choice, but the state of California wants to make sure their teachers are qualified, blah blah blah). I attended Notre Dame de Namur University.
I am so done with college!!!
Workplace
After SFSU, I moved to Los Angeles to find a job in television production. Instead, my first job was as a production assistant for a feature film. This began my career in film. I worked my way up from production assistant to production coordinator on films like "Rising Sun"...Expand for more
, "The Beverly Hillbillies", "Mulholland Falls", "Tank Girl", "A Life Less Ordinary", "Good Burger", and "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?". It was a fun and exciting career, but I was disenchanted with the business fairly quickly. Working with movie stars/crews and their egos got tiring.
When Brad and I got married, we relocated back to the Bay Area and I needed to find something else to do. I tried to sell my crafts for a couple of years, but the income didn't compensate me for the time spent making the products! I decided to go into teaching. I've been teaching 4th grade for seven years. I love my job! I can't believe I get paid to "play" with kids all day. The paperwork and the parents can be a challenge sometimes, but I really enjoy the teaching part. I can't see myself doing this job forever, but I think I'll have the energy to do it another ten years.
