Cheryl's Story
Life
I am very active in my church singing in the choir and serving on the choir leadership committee. I often help serve at receptions for special events at the church. I love to go to yardsales and estate sales, visit historic areas, eat out with friends, go to plays and movies, go to thrift and antique stores. My mother is still living and I enjoy visiting her and my sister and her family. I've never married so I'm free to visit whenever I can. I have never ruled out marriage but it just never seemed to happen. I'm content with my life as it is. I retired 31 January 2007 and am getting adjusted to not having to get up in the middle of the night and go to work. ...Expand for more
It feels stange but I definitely like it. I have joined the YMCA where I participate in water aerobics and have made many new friends. I also have joined a Red Hat Society group and enjoy activities with them.
In May of 2017 I moved to Alabama to care for my mother. She passed away in February of 2018. My sister and her family live here so I am near them. It's been an adjustment from what I was used to but I am enjoying living here now.
Workplace
After graduating from Quaker Valley High in Leetsdale, PA I went into the Air Force for four years. Upon leaving the Air Force I applied for a civil service job which I worked for 36 years before retiring 31 January 2007.
