Cheryl's Story
Then: Drama, Junior Classical League, French Club, Miami Girls Choir, Sci-Fi addict. U. of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
1990s: Broke off my engagement, moved from Miami to Seattle, U. of Washington, diagnosed with fibromyalgia, quit school & became a Tech Writer & Editor at Adobe & then Intel.
2000s: Became sick with Adult Onset Still's Disease (like lupus & rheumatoid arthritis--immune system attacks organs & joints--with a daily fever that gets worse with activity and stress). Eventually got SSDI, but still do not have the private long-term disability benefits I paid for. Grr. :)
Finally feeling well enough to get back online this year. I have lots of family & friends and consider myself lucky in many ways. I took 2+ years of Japanese in college, but now I am "studying" via anime & manga.

My favorite thing to do is developmental editing, but I'm still to tired, weak, feverish & painful to pursue it.
I did go dancing a lot in the '90s, though. And had two long trips to Europe right before I became to sick to work. I finished a night school certificate of Tech Communication credit courses at the UW around then, too. Just overloaded my system, I guess.
I have 2 bunnies, Pancake & Momo, and one alert cat, Lola, who warns me if I'm about to pass out. My three little sisters all live in Seattle (August, 2009), and my sister Diana has two adorable sons. All three of my parents live up here now, too, so everyone in my family except my grandmother Mimi and some aunts, uncles and cousins lives nearby.
Nice.
Still have too many books, and now too many anime dvds as well.
I don't often laugh at my own jokes, but I like it when you do.
