Chris's Story
Joined the US Navy not even one year out of high school Went to GT for several quarters and had to drop out...ran out of money. While not my first choice, it has definitely turned out to be my best. I have subsequently gotten married, had three amazing daughters, gotten my BS in Mech Eng and MPA, been deployed to many areas including the Middle East, specifically Oman (which by the way is a hidden gem of a GREAT tourist getaway), served on several submarines, including supervising the operation of a nuclear reactor. incoln. Basketball and hiking/camping are some of my main joys. I have been gone 9 out of the past 13 months either overseas or on the ocean so it is nice to be back and get reacquainted with my family and friends. I haven't been through Atlanta for about a year or so. I passed through January 2008 for a day or two as I was going from Ft Jackson, SC to Tampa, FL in preparation for going to the US Embassy in Oman. I rarely get back there (on average about every 3 years or so). I am totally looking forward to coming back and seeing some good old faces again. That is, as long as I am not deployed somewhere.
