Chris's Story
Life
Hi everyone. Here is what has been going on with me and my family over the past 30 years. I'll keep it brief as possible.
We left California (Mountain View/Moffett Field NAS) in January of 1980 and moved to Jacksonville, Florida as a result of my dad being in the U.S. Navy (my dad was stationed at NAS Jacksonville). While there, I attended Andrew Jackson High School briefly and then Baldwin High School to finish out my Junior year (3 High Schools in 1 year! - Wow!).
While attending Baldwin High School, me and my family lived at NAS Cecil Field (Yellow Water). I finished my last year of school at Baldwin and graduated in 1981. After graduation, I worked on NAS Cecil Field at the Base Exchange for about a year or so, and then joined the U.S. Army in June of 1982.
I was married to my wife Cindy in July of 1982 (2 weeks before leaving for Army Basic Training - Boot Camp). After attending my Basic Training and Advanced Indivdual Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama we were off to Fort Riley, Kansas.
I stayed in the Army for 21 years and was assigned to the following places: Fort Riley, Kansas (near Topeka), Camp Humphreys, South Korea (near Seoul), ...Expand for more
Fort Knox, Kentucky (twice) (near Louisville), Bradenton, Florida (I was an Army Recruiter near Tampa Bay), Fort Leavenworth, Kansas (near Kansas City), and finally Fort Sill, Oklahoma (near Oklahoma City). I retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years at Fort Sill as a Sergeant First Class (E-7).
After my retirement, I went back to school using VA benefits and completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Cameron University (Lawton, Oklahoma) in May 2005.
Upon graduation, I went back to work on Fort Sill working as a civilian federal employee. I am currently a supply technician/purchasing officer for the Directorate of Emergency Services (Federal Civilian Police).
I am currently married to my wife of 25+ years (Cindy), and we have 2 boys (Steven who is 20 and a college sophomore, and Ken who is 16 and a high school junior). We also have a huge Chocolate Lab (Buddy), a cat (PJ), and my magic assistant (rabbit) named Trixie.
We currently live and work in Lawton, Oklahoma. I also have a part-time magic entertainment business.
Thanks for reading and I hope to here from you soon and what's been going on with you!
Take care.
Chris
