Chris's Story

Life After high school I spent some time trying to figure out what I wanted in life. At the same time I went through various jobs in the construction industry and a few dead end jobs to support myself. Just after I turned 21, I got into sports surfaces. I started as the low man and within one year I had moved up to foreman. Soon I was all over the west coast building tennis courts, running tracks, and parks. Once I ran into Shea Farr, in Eugene, Oregon when I was working at the University. For nine to ten months out of the year I was out on the road. One day I would be in San Francisco, and the next I would fly to Boise, Idaho. I did this for five years, When I realized that I could do this stuff myself and make more money. So I started my own firm in 97 and haven't looked back since. Granted there have been some tough years, but I think that those are behind me now, and I just keep making more money each year. I am currently looking at buying out some of my competition ad if it goes through, I will be the second largest company in the northwest for my field. Okay, that covers what I do for employment, now we can move on to the things that really count in my life. My high school sweetheart and I broke up and got back together, only to break-up again for good when I was 19. We almost made another run at it when I was 21 but I was out of town for almost two months straight and when I got back she was engaged to someone else. Oh well. She has been married twice and me only once, and I still am. So I guess it was the best thing that could have happened. I had a couple of serious girlfriends, and got engaged. Six months later I found out that she had been cheating on me most while I was out of town. I had paid for her colleage, got her out of debt, and was looking at buying a house when I found out. Her dude called my house and I answered, The conversation was quite enlightening. Needless to saw she was moved out within twenty-four hours and I had to place a restraining order on her because she wouldn't give me back my keys. I was pretty fed up with relationships and about six months later I met a girl that would later become my wife. She is everything that I am not. We often say that together we make a really great person. The best description of my wife is to picture maryann from Gilligans Island, well thats my wife. Oh, by the way her name is Sharman. It pronounced just like the tissue Charmin. We have been together since 96 and we have yet to have a fight. I have tried, but it just doesn't work with her. She is quite successful at her line of work so I a, pretty proud of her. We got married in 2001 and in August of 2003 we had our first child, a girl named Emily Rose Lewis. She is very bright, an does everything at 110 m.p.h. She is quite a handfull, but she is a lot of fun. In Feb of 06 we had our second child, another girl, named Megan Elizabeth Lewis. So there we were two months before the youngests first birthday and we find out that my wife is expecting again. This one should be arriving late August, early September. After that we are done, we hope. I don't want to spend the next decade changing diapers. We still live in Yakim...Expand for more
a, out in west valley. Own our home. We have a dog named Barrett, a purebred yellow lab, who is the goofiest dog you could ever meet. I have a F-350 crew cab 4x4 pick-up, I think as a contractor, it just goes with the business. I bought the wife a new Ford Expedition that she loves. Before the kids I bought us a great Sea-Doo jet ski that has to be the fastest ski in the valley. And since the kids, so I can get away and have some alone time A Yamaha YZF R-1 and it is very fast. Fast enough that the wife won't go for a ride with me. I am looking into buying another house in Spokane where I will be setting up a branch office. That pretty much catches everything up except pictures and those will be coming soon. Workplace I own a construction company that specializes in the construction, repair, and maintenance of tennis courts, Basketball courts, and 400meter running tracks. Most of our work is for high schools, colleages, athletic clubs, parks, and some private individuals. We also supply equipment for every sport there is and at the colleagette, and professional level. So if any of my fellow clasmates wants to start a football team I am the guy you should call to get everything you could possibly think that you might want. I do a lot of private weight rooms for homes. There are some people in the valley and the state that have a better facilities in their home than WSU or UW. I have gotten to do work for a bunch of famous people. The only ones I can mention without getting sued are Arnold Swartzanegger, Andre Agassi, and Clyde the Glide Drexler. There are a couple of computer guys that I worked for on an island in the San Juans and I will let you figure that one out on your own. For private owners my name is really starting to get around, because I a got a call to go to florida when I did Andre Agassi's court. And I am supposed to to one up near alaska this summer. And I have even gotten a call to see if I was will to go to Dubai, in the middle east for a client I can't name. I think I'll wait until things cool down. While working at a golf course in LA I meet Jack nicolas, the actor, It was kinda funny because he actually came up to the fence outside the courts and watched what I was doing and started a conversation with me. It was pretty cool. Then he notices my sunglasses and wants to check them out. They were a pair of Serengetti Graphite Wrap-arounds with red lenses. He traded me for a custom pair of Vuarnets that he had made for him for the glasses and he even autographed the case. So if you look at most of the picture of Jack Nickolaus for 94-like 98 you will notice that he has a pair of shade with red lenses, well those were mine. I still have the glasses and case. I got a ton of crazy stories like that, before you say it, yes they are true, I wasn't alone when I met these people. Guys like Arnold, I get to meet because they donated the funds for there local school distrist in Sun Valley, Idaho. And later we built a court on his property for his kids. He is really a nice guys who constantly tells the best dirty jokes when it just the fellas hanging out after work. It amazing just how much money you can make in this line of work.
