Chris Lillstrung:  

I'm flattered if you're taking the time to check on my bio and see what I'm doing these days. That's very kind of those of you with whom I had the great privilege of growing up. After I graduated from Harvey in 1998, I went to Cleveland State for a year before transferring to Lake Erie. I graduated from Lake Erie in 2002 with a BA in Communications. Since 1999, I've worked in the sports department at The News-Herald. I originally started as a sports clerk and managed to work my way up. Today, I'm a full-time high school sports beat writer and page layout editor. I've also had the opportunity over the years to cover the Browns, Cavaliers (including all four NBA Finals appearances), Indians, Monsters and U.S. men's national team and international soccer matches. High school-wise, my main responsibilities are soccer during the fall, hockey and swimming and diving during the winter and track and field during the spring. We have 34 schools in our coverage area, so it all keeps me pretty busy. You should see my byline pretty consistently in The News-Herald and at News-Herald.com. Me finding a job involving sports is such a shock, isn't it? (lol) I've had the opportunity to travel abroad three times, going to London in 2002 and making a return trip there in the summer of 2005, as well as going to St. Lucia for my honeymoon in 2007.
