Chris's Story
Life
After Bowsher, I went to BGSU. There, I was bent on being an optometrist. I fell in love in my sophomore year (plus Vietnam, and a lot of other stuff going on at the time), ran into a sociologist--Harry Gyman, and decided I was interested in "why" people do what they do. was a Ph.D. student from Holland). We got married, moved to Ames, IA where I went to Iowa State for a Ph.D. in sociology. Moved to Youngstown (Youngstown State U.) for a couple of years [taught there and Kent State U.], then off to Omaha, Nebraska--Univeristy of Nebrask at Omaha. We taught here for about 20 years or so, and this last year we got a divorce. I'm at U. of Nebraska at Omaha (NOT the football one, but the HOCKEY one!) in the criminal justice department. So there: 35 years in a nutshell!
